Details of the course :

This course provides fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed for dog grooming.

Bathing and Drying:

You will learn to select the appropriate shampoos based on breed and skin type, a proper techniques for bathing dogs, and ensuring thorough rinsing. Next comes an understanding of how to use dryers without causing stress to the dog.

Brushing and Coat Care:

Students are taught the importance of regular brushing to prevent matting and tangling of fur. They learn about different coat types and the appropriate brushes or combs to use.

Nail Trimming:

Nail maintenance is crucial for a dog's comfort and health. Course participants are shown how to trim nails safely to avoid causing discomfort or injury.

Ear Cleaning:

Cleaning a dog's ears helps prevent infections. The course covers how to clean ears gently and efficiently, reducing the risk of irritation.

Tools and Equipment:

Students become familiar with the various tools and equipment used in grooming, such as clippers, scissors, and grooming tables. They learn how to properly use and maintain these tools.

Safety and Handling:

Proper handling techniques are taught to ensure the safety of both the groomer and the dog. This includes methods to calm nervous dogs and strategies to manage their behavior during grooming.

Customer Communication:

Effective communication with dog owners is a key skill. Participants learn how to listen to customer preferences and expectations, and how to provide recommendations based on the dog's needs.

Ethics and Care:

The course may also touch on the ethical treatment of animals and the importance of ensuring a positive and comfortable grooming experience .

Where

The course is conducted in the salon 5 days a week ( Tues - Saturday ) for a duration of 5 hours a day ( timings can be adjusted ) . On completion of this course you will receive a certificate from TAILWAGGERS ( we are a part of the PPGAI)
